What tools do you use alongside FieldPulse that aren't integrated yet?

hi all — quick question from the dispatch desk

we're running FieldPulse for scheduling and work orders but honestly there's still like 5 other things we're juggling in parallel. wondering if anyone else has this patchwork situation and what you're using

for us it's:

  • google sheets for parts inventory (i know i know)
  • whatsapp groups for tech-to-tech communication
  • a shared calendar in outlook for PTO and truck maintenance schedules
  • some random pdf editor for customer quotes that didn't come through FieldPulse

none of it talks to each other. every morning i'm copy-pasting between three windows

what's your stack look like. anything you wish would just connect already

  • Oh this is a great thread — I'm going to dump our whole shadow IT situation here because I think a lot of ops people pretend they don't have this problem.

    Our unofficial tool stack:

    • Slack for urgent dispatch changes — way faster than trying to catch someone in FieldPulse
    • Airtable for equipment asset tracking (we outgrew spreadsheets but FieldPulse asset management wasn't flexible enough for our warranty tracking needs)
    • Calendly for customer self-scheduling on smaller service calls — feeds into FieldPulse manually
    • Excel for commission calculations because our pay structure has too many exceptions for FieldPulse's built-in payroll export

Pro tip: We actually built a Zapier webhook from Airtable → FieldPulse for new equipment records, but it breaks every few months when FieldPulse changes their API. Tempted to just hire someone to build a proper sync.

Also — honorable mention to the physical whiteboard in our break room that still has the most accurate view of who's on call this weekend. Some problems technology doesn't solve.

  • lol @ the whiteboard yeah we have one of those too basically it's got everyone's cert expiration dates and nobody trusts the digital version so we just keep updating both

my big thing is google voice for customer callbacks — FieldPulse has the call logging but honestly the app call quality is hit or miss and also customers call back the number they see which is my personal cell half the time because i made the mistake of calling from it once back in 2021

so now i have this whole parallel thing where i'm texting customers screenshots of arrival times from FieldPulse because the automated notifications don't always go through and i don't want to get yelled at

would love if there was just a "resend notification" button that actually worked but anyway that's my shadow system
