What's a FieldPulse feature you ignored at first but now can't live without?

Been using FieldPulse for about three years now, and I'm curious what features other people slept on initially that are now part of your daily workflow.

For me, it was technician notes templates. I thought they were just boilerplate fluff when we first set up the system. Pro tip: set up templates for common job types with pre-filled diagnostic checklists and customer communication language. Saves me 10-15 minutes per job, and my notes are actually consistent enough that the office doesn't call me asking what I meant by "fixed the thing."

Also didn't think I'd use photo requirements on checklists until we had a dispute over whether a disconnect was properly labeled. Now I document everything, and it's saved us twice on warranty calls.

What about you all? What'd you overlook that turned out to be essential?

  • oh man ok so basically i was the same way with the job notes thing but what really got me was the quick parts lookup in the app?? like i used to just call the warehouse every time i wasn't sure if we had something in stock and basically they'd put me on hold forever and now i just tap the part number in and it tells me which van has it or if i need to swing by the shop first, so what i did was i started logging everything i use even on small jobs and now when i'm doing quotes i can actually tell people if we have the part or not without being like "uhh idk let me check" which customers hate honestly

    In my experience the parts lookup is only as good as whoever's updating inventory. Ours was wrong half the time until we got strict about it.

    What actually saved my bacon was offline mode. Ignored it completely until I was stuck in a basement with no signal and couldn't access the work order. Now I make sure everything's synced before I head out.
