Which FieldPulse report do you rely on most?

Been using FieldPulse for about 4 years now, mostly as a tech but I help our office manager pull reports when she's swamped. Honestly I ignore most of the fancy dashboards — too much noise.

The one I actually check myself is the Technician Performance Summary. Not because I care about rankings, but I use it to see my callback rate vs. the other guys. In my experience, if you're not tracking that number, problems creep up on you. Customers don't call back about good work.

Curious what everyone else actually uses day-to-day. Not what you *should* use — what you actually open.

  • Pro tip: The Parts Usage Report filtered by technician is underrated. I pull it every two weeks to spot who's burning through materials vs. who's hoarding parts in their van. Caught a pattern last year — one tech was consistently short on fittings because he was double-checking leaks the right way, using more than estimated. Good problem to have, but we needed to adjust his job pricing.

Also worth noting: the reporting improvements they teased might finally make the Custom Report builder usable. Right now I export to Excel for anything complicated.

  • I must respectfully correct the terminology here — FieldPulse does not offer a "Parts Usage Report filtered by technician" as a native report. One must export the Inventory Transaction Log and apply a technician filter in post-processing.

That said, the underlying data is sound. I have automated this extraction via the API (see retrieving custom field values for related methodology) and find it reliable for governance purposes.

  • Fair correction — I do export and pivot. The point stands though.
