Summary
After reconnecting from offline mode, the mobile app sometimes displays outdated work order information until you manually refresh the list.
Symptoms
- Work order status appears as "In Progress" when it was already marked "Completed" by another technician
- Assigned jobs missing from the technician's list even though dispatch confirms they were assigned
- Customer address or contact details showing older values after an office update
- Timestamp on work orders showing yesterday's date/time after reconnecting
Affected Versions
FieldPulse mobile app versions 3.1.0–3.1.4 on both iOS and Android. Resolved in 3.1.5.
Cause
In certain network conditions during the transition from offline to online, the app was prioritizing cached local data over fresh server data for the initial list render. The background sync process was completing successfully, but the UI layer wasn't triggering a re-render of the work order list.
Resolution
Immediate fix:
- From the Work Orders screen, pull down on the list to trigger a manual refresh
- Or tap More → Sync Now to force a full resync
Permanent fix:
Update your mobile app to version 3.1.5 or later:
- Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
- Search for "FieldPulse"
- Tap Update if available
Prevention
To minimize stale data going forward:
- Enable Auto-refresh on connect in Settings → Sync — this setting was added in 3.1.5
- Train technicians to pull-to-refresh when they first regain connectivity
